Vaatjie Sien Sy Gat
A spin-off from Poena is Koning, Willie Esterhuizen's Vaatjie Sien Sy Gat
is set in Johannesburg in 2008. The movie, which features a number of actors from Poena is Koning, concerns Vaatjie Visagie, who has a passion for eating and, hence, a passion for cooking. He is enrolled at a Chefs Training College, where students vie for top honours and the grand prize - a trip to Paris, France. Vaatjie is miles ahead of his classmates and this upsets a villain called James, played by Marc Homan. He constructs a plan to get rid of Vaatjie. When Vaatjie is found guilty of James's sins, he faces the prospect of going to jail. Instead of facing the music, Vaatjie decides to flee aboard a light aircraft. However, he doesn't get very far - in Botswana he is arrested for smuggling... The movie is made in Afrikaans with English subtitles.
